Child Physiotherapy

Lara McLachlan Bsc. M.Phil. MISCP . Bobath Trained Lara qualified with a degree in physiotherapy in 1990 and initially worked at St. James Hospital in Leeds. 

She began to specialise in Paediatrics on her return to Glasgow in 1993 where she gained experience of working in numerous settings such as schools, nurseries and child development centres, seeing children with neurological and developmental problems. Having taken a year out to travel, Lara returned to work at Bridgeton child development centre, Glasgow, in 1996 and undertook the Bobath course in London which teaches a widely recognised specialist approach to the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. In 1998 she gained an M. Phil in Psychology following which she studied counselling. In 2000, Lara began working at Yorkhill Hospital for Sick Children as a Senior 1 Physiotherapist in Neurology- primarily treating children with acute head injuries as well as assessing and treating children with newly diagnosed neurological conditions and maintaining a regular case load of out patients . 

In 2007 Lara moved and settled in Ireland with her husband and family of three children. She is now using her years of experience and expertise in establishing Go Physio- a private physiotherapy practice for children.
